Cimri integration with AI assistants
Cimri is Turkey's price-comparison platform. Our AI assistant integration lets you search retail products, compare the lowest prices across merchants, and inspect offers, price history, technical specs, and reviews — directly inside your conversation with a supported AI assistant, without leaving the chat.
What you can do
Once the Cimri app is connected, you can ask your AI assistant to:
- Search products — e.g. "cheapest Vestel washing machine" or "washing machines under 20,000 TL". Cimri returns a ranked product list with prices and merchant counts.
- Compare merchant offers — open any product to see which stores sell it and at what price, so you can find the best deal.
- Review price history — see how a product's price has moved over time.
- Inspect product details — technical specifications, pros and cons, and user reviews are shown in an interactive card.
Everything is presented in a rich, interactive interface inside the assistant. Cimri does not sell products directly — it links you to the merchants that do.
Supported AI assistants
Cimri is available as an app/connector for:
- Claude (Anthropic)
- ChatGPT (OpenAI)
It is built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), so it can work with any MCP-compatible assistant.
Getting started
There is nothing to install or configure on your end:
- No Cimri account is required.
- No API keys or credentials need to be entered.
- Simply add Cimri from your assistant's app / connector directory, then ask a shopping question in natural language.
Data and privacy
We designed this integration to access as little as possible and to keep your data under your control:
- We do not collect or store personal account data through this integration. Cimri has no user account tied to the connector.
- Read-only. The integration can only read public product catalog data (products, prices, offers, specs, reviews). It cannot create, modify, delete, or purchase anything on your behalf.
- No writes to external systems. It does not publish content, submit forms, send messages, or place orders.
- Server-side data access. All requests to Cimri's product data are made by our server. The interface shown in the assistant never talks to Cimri's backend directly, and our API gateway details are never exposed to the browser or the assistant.
- Limited tool data. Your AI assistant provider handles your account and full conversation under its own privacy policy. When the assistant invokes Cimri, Cimri receives only the specific tool arguments needed for that request (a product search and optional price range, or a selected product ID) and returns the relevant tool result. Cimri does not receive the rest of your conversation through the App protocol. See the Cimri MCP App Privacy Policy for complete data-use, recipient, retention, and user-control disclosures.
Safety and content guardrails
For IT administrators and security reviewers, the integration is intentionally narrow in scope:
-
Two read-only tools only:
-
search_products— search the catalog and filter by an optional price range. -
get_product_details— fetch offers, price history, specs, pros/cons, and reviews for a specific product.
-
-
Both tools are marked
readOnlyHint: true, destructiveHint: false, andopenWorldHint: false— they operate on a closed, read-only catalog and perform no irreversible actions. -
Prohibited-category guardrail. The app is instructed
not to search for digital goods/subscriptions, financial
services, illegal or regulated items, age-restricted products, or weapons.
In addition,
search_productsapplies a baseline restricted- category filter to catalogue results on the server side. - Graceful failure. Requests for unknown products return a clear "product not found" message rather than leaking raw errors.
Limitations
- Coverage is focused on the Turkish retail market and Turkish-language queries work best.
- The app does not process purchases or payments — it directs you to merchant listings to complete a purchase.
- Prices and availability reflect the data available at query time and may change on the merchant's own site.
- Product search results are filtered to exclude the prohibited categories described above.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Cimri account?
No. The integration works without any account, login, or API key.
Does Cimri see my other conversations?
No. For a product search, Cimri receives the search query and any optional minimum or maximum price filters sent by the assistant. For product detail, Cimri receives the selected product ID. The rest of your conversation stays with your AI assistant.
Can the app buy something or change my orders?
No. The integration is strictly read-only. It can look up products and prices but cannot place orders, make payments, or modify anything.
Is my data used to train AI models?
Cimri does not use your data for training. Data handling within the assistant is governed by that assistant's provider (e.g. Anthropic has stated connected-app data is not used to train its models).
Which products can I search for?
Mainstream retail products available on Cimri. Product search results are filtered to exclude digital goods, financial services, and age-restricted or regulated categories.
